This piece embodies Graystown Castle and the village settlement that once thrived around it – the homes, the people, the builders and the community that lived in its shadow for centuries.  The piece is looking from the perspective of the Fair Green and the Quarry of the Castle.  For nearly 800 years, the castle has stood, witnessing the rise and fall of villages, the arrival and departure of the railway.  The houses built from its quarry stone have now crumbled back into the earth.

This sculpture is a map of the place, the people, and the childhood memories woven into the landscape.
